I’m back! It’s The server problems have been largely ironed out. Giles has done true yeoman’s duty on the server pulling several all-nighters to completely rebuild the server on the new version of Movable Type. There are still some lingering issues, but he’s working to resolve that. He definitely gets a standing “O” from me. Thanks, man.
As you can tell, some things have changed around here. I’m tweaking the layout bit by bit until I get something I’m happier with. The old default MT template wasn’t very exciting, but I’m html and design impaired, so I left it alone. This is one of the current MT templates, and I’ve tweaked the colors on the sides a little just for fun. The great graphic at the top is courtesy of Patrick. He sent me a bunch of good looking ones. I may slip a new one in from time to time.
Eventually I’d like to shift that column on the right-hand side to the left, but I’m afraid of messing something up. I’d also like to get a blogroll started, but again, I’d probably just bring down the whole internet. In time.
Comments are off for awhile until Giles and I sit down and discuss the new settings. Since they caused me so many problems with comment spam, I’ll probably leave them off for the time being. Sorry. I liked getting comments, but my old ratio was something like 1 legit comment to 1000 spams. I think Giles killed something like 40,000 spam comments off the site. All my readers should know how to get in touch with me anyway.
So for now, I’m back to blogging away. I’ve missed it.
Oh, and I’m also using the fabulous MarsEdit to upload my posts. The old Kung-Log wasn’t cutting the mustard any more, so I moved to ME. It’s only a 30 day demo, but I’ll shell out the reasonable shareware fee if it works out.
(dang, wouldn’t you know it… as soon as I tried to post this, I got a timeout. Uh oh… Then I checked and it’s my whole connection. Thanks a BUNCH Cox internet).
