Please Do Not Post

I got a very strange message today in the mail. It’s hand-signed by a known internet personality and obviously took some time and money to arrange. The person in question doesn’t want anything pertaining to this message to get out, and specifically asked for those who received it to not post details on blogs. Okay, sounds interesting. I’m game, and I’ll honor your request.
Hey, R: the Spirit is willing. Count me in. But how the heck did you get my address?

  1. They got your address by doing a WHOIS on thebigthink.org. You can do this in UNIX or at almost any of the registrars’ websites (ie. http://www.ns.com/whois.htm).

FIRST, I MUST SOLICIT YOUR STRICTEST CONFIDENCE IN THIS TRANSACTION. THIS IS BY VIRTUE OF ITS NATURE AS BEING UTTERLY CONFIDENTIAL AND ‘TOP SECRET’. I AM SURE AND HAVE CONFIDENCE OF YOUR ABILITY AND RELIABILITY TO PROSECUTE A TRANSACTION OF THIS GREAT MAGNITUDE INVOLVING A PENDING TRANSACTION REQUIRING MAXIIMUM CONFIDENCE.
