NASA Gives up on Hubble

Filed under: Uncategorized — jasony @ 10:59 am

NASA reported today that it will stop all servicing missions to the Hubble Space Telescope. They estimate it will become unusable in 4 years. NASA says they are doing this to make room in the budget for Bush’s plans to return to Mars.
Bush recently upped NASA’s budget, but only by 200 million dollars per year… not even enough to pay for half of one extra shuttle flight.

  1. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! This made me want to cry.
Give them more money, President Bush!!!!!!! Hurry up as much as you can, Ratan!
The only sentence that even made me feel the slightest bit better was the last one. That project better go on in 2011. It will be a TRAGEDY to lose Hubble. I’m going to gaze at Sky and Telescope as I go to bed tonight. Not enough people are amazed and inspired anymore. Get off your butts and stop watching Paris Hilton, America. Life is too precious to waste by watching meaningless trash like that. Try dreaming and doing things that inspire wonder and make a difference in this world.
