One Hit Wonders

Filed under: Uncategorized — jasony @ 12:38 pm

I was talking with Erin about so called “One-Hit Wonders”- bands that were popular for a very short period of time based on the success of a single song. We were trying to name a few and couldn’t come up with many, so I wanted to post to the blog here and see if readers could remember any. Comments, please?

Just go to iTunes and search for iMixes titled “One Hit Wonders.” I found 27 including…

  3. VH1 did a whole “One Hit Wonders” countdown, hosted by none other than William “Will You People Get a Life!” Shatner.
I won’t cheat and go look at the list, (I’m sure you can find it on VH1.com), but a few favorites I know they featured:
    “Take On Me” by a-Ha
“Come On Eileen” by Dexy’s Midnight Runners
The always classic “Rico Suave” by Gerardo (no, not Geraldo)
“Rock Me Amadeus” by Falco (which I heard recently on the eclectic 100.3 Jack FM: ‘Playing What We Want”)
    “Pop Muzik” by M

Patrick, I’m still waiting for the “Three Doors Down, Seven Mary Three, Third Eye Blind, Timbuk3, Three Dog Night, Third Day, Three Days Grace” Tour
