First moonwalker Neil Armstrong ‘doing great’ after heart surgery – Cosmic Log

I actually had a chance to shake Neil Armstrong’s hand years ago when I was playing piano in a restaurant. He was there as part of the board of directors of a company (Huck industries, IIRC) and they were having a board meeting/dinner in a private room. On a piano break I went into the room dressed in my tux pretending to be a waiter. I looked around the long table and couldn’t recognize him. This was before the anniversaries and his TV appearances lately. So I missed my chance. I don’t think I would have done it anyway since they were having a board meeting but still… thiiiis close. Little bit of hero worship there, I admit. But hey… Neil Armstrong.

An Unexpected Ass Kicking | Blog Of Impossible Things: “I’ve always believed that nothing is withheld from us what we have conceived to do. Most people think the opposite – that all things are withheld from them which they have conceived to do and they end up doing nothing.’

‘Wait’, I said, pausing at his last sentence ’What was that quote again?’

‘Nothing is withheld from us what we have conceived to do.’

That’s good, who said that?

God did.

What?

God said it and there were only two people who believed it, you know who?

Nope, who?

God and me, so I went out and did it.”

Read the whole thing. H/T Ross Richie for the link.
